About
May the painter
Sees art as a source within yourself, that can help you find balance in life and cultivate meaningful interpersonal relationships. Its also a safe space where you can expand visions without judgement or the need to turn them into something productive.
Art should not stay isolated in cultural or academic spaces. Painting is a way of living and a comment on the worlds social and economic structures.
community
The biggest lie they teach us in school is that we have to figure out everything by ourselves. We are not set up for productivity and we are not in competition. We are human beings who thrive from community, collaboration and the beauty of interpersonal relationships.
freedom
me trying to explain that deciding what you want to become based on your interests is not going to be fulfilling. There are several jobs that would be interesting, but not all of them offer the same lifestyle. I think we should rather ask ourselves how we want to live, what we want to experience and what kind of people we want to be around. Then we can choose a profession based on the freedom/security/inspiration level it has to offer.
creation
I feel like a common stereotype for artists is that they need to be depressed or have some kind of trauma to implement in their art. Although it might be true for some I don't like how sometimes unhealthy and lonely lifestyles are glorified in which artists are consumed by their work. I'm a painter but I'm also a human being and thats what I'll always be first.
